How Can I Treat Wrinkles?

Once you reach a certain age, you’re going to notice wrinkles on your face. It’s that simple. But thanks to modern aesthetic treatments, you don’t have to live with those lines and wrinkles, and you may even be able to prevent them from getting worse. Here at Soza Clinic, we offer a number of services that can treat various signs of aging and sun damage. Before determining which treatment is best for you, it helps to know that there are different types of wrinkles, and the right solution for you will depend on the type that you have.

Two Types

What many people don’t know is wrinkles come in two basic types: dynamic and static. Dynamic wrinkles are the ones you see when you make certain facial expressions like smiling and frowning. You’ll see crow’s feet at the corners of your eyes and horizontal lines across your forehead. You may also see two vertical lines in between your eyebrows. The other type – static – is a result of the natural aging process and the body’s slowed production of beneficial substances like collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Which Type Do I Have?

When you visit our office for your initial consultation, we can evaluate your facial features and help you determine which type of wrinkles you have. We may ask you to make a number of different facial expressions. From there, we can come up with a customized treatment plan for you and your signs of aging. Many people are dealing with both types at the same time, so we may use a combination of treatment methods to achieve the results you desire.

What Treatments are Available?

Again, the right treatment for you will depend on a number of factors. The most well-known treatments include BOTOX® and dermal fillers like Juvederm®. BOTOX® addresses dynamic wrinkles by relaxing the muscles underneath them, whereas Juvederm® treats the static type by filling them in with special substances that promote fullness and hydration in the treatment area. Other treatments include the Vampire Facial, skin tightening, and microneedling, just to name a few.
